SAMe (S-adenosylmethionine) is a natural compound made in the body from the essential amino acid L-methionine. It is involved in a number of body processes, including membrane function, neurotransmission, liver detoxification, and bone and joint health.† Although SAMe can be synthesized in the body, it is dependent upon the presence of sufficient levels of other nutrients including methionine, folic acid, and vitamin B12. Dietary supplementation of SAMe is an effective way to support optimal levels of this compound. 

Low levels of SAMe may result in lowered serotonin levels, a brain chemical that supports mood and emotional well-being. SAMe is also required for nerve regeneration. SAMe has been shown in numerous controlled clinical trials to support a healthy mood.† SAMe has been shown in animal studies to support cartilage growth and repair. Suggested Use

Adults: 1 tablet, 1 to 6 times daily on an empty stomach or as directed by a healthcare professional. Children: As directed by a Healthcare professional. Do not chew or crush tablets.

Caution

SAMe donates methyl groups to create other compounds in a process called methylation. Methyl groups are crucial for formation of cell components including proteins, nucleic acids found in DNA and RNA, and phospholipids that form nerve cell membranes. An enteric tablet coating, resistant to gastric acidity, helps to further ensure a biologically active product. Only SAMe products that are thus protected have demonstrated efficacy. Klaire Labs™ SAMe 200 is provided in individual foil blister-packets to maximize product stability. Each tablet contains a full 200 mg of elemental SAMe from 400 mg SAMe tosylate disulfate.
